long time militaria collector. new to optics collecting. anyone suggest a reference on marking and operation on german binocs; markings and use of viewfinders and interpretation of same? german or english text. either is appreciated

Try this reference book by Hans Seeger. Worth it's weight in gold IMO.

Or his later book, the large blue one. It covers the older Zeiss binoculars in deeper detail. Pre 1919, as far as I recall.

His is working on the 2. book presently, 1919-1945+
