    Help with this binoculars!

    Hi Gents,

Please look at these pictures which I posted below.
As everybody knows, it is not a German binoculars, and the eagle is obviously a fake.

But it is just this binos which bothered me for a long time. I came across this binos 2 months ago, the owner of this item is a German whose grandpa was a veteran. This guy told me the binos was a spoils seized by his grandpa from Poland, and his grandpa engraved the eagle on the right prism plate. He said although this item was not an orginal German binoculars, it recorded a period of history. And probably this binocular was the only one in the world. Therefore, he said this binos was worth collecting.

As a collector, I don't know if i should buy it or not? Anybody who could give me opinions? Thanks!

    Yun

          Hi Richthofen_117,

This is the Soviet binoculars Zagorski plant (ZOMZ). Issue of post-war period!
Therefore, the eagle and the year - fake.
He was in your hands? Lenses with anti-reflective coating?

            binos

the binos are russian.. dated 1940 They wouldnt of been picked up in the polish campain.
I can see picke up in russia than maybe eagle added later. Only a kriegsmariner would of known about that marking anyway. No heer binos were marked like that.
Buy the item not the story... stories get expensive...

                      Ru 7x50

Hi Rusmann, I agree that the hand etched logo on the left prism cover dipicts the ZOMZ logo from the 40's , but was this type of binocular made by any of the other Russian manufacturers?

below is a link to the main manufatcurers:

                        Hi Stew,
If I understood correctly your question, the answer is:
this type of binoculars produced eschy Krasnogorsky ZTM plant (in 1941 moved to Novosibirsk). Began production of this model since 1938.
Binoculars, which showed richthofen_117, was produced by the ZOMZ after the WW2. During the war, the plant did not make 7x50 binoculars.
