Some early Zeiss Binoculars Factory Photo´s

    Some early factory Photos.

Septar, german navy marked. Early type.
Photo dated between 1936 and 1938

6x30 with gas oculars, and Weimar M anchor Navy markings.
These markings are known from luger holsters dating from 1926 to 1929.
The binocular do have a serila number, but the Artl. Nr. seems to be missing the number.
    Photo dated 1926-1928.

All the photos below came from a Zeiss document numbered M709.
It is dated, when received in Copenhagen on 14th. september 1932.
Unfortunately, someone has torn up the document and dispersed the photos around between the files. But as far as I can find out, they came with that document.

6x30 Gas mask Oculars. Marked: Nedinsco etc, around a Carl Zeiss Jena logo.
Odd thing is, there is no serial number, only a blank space.

Better quality photo of the 8x60 Porro 2. Note how the place of the markings resemble that of 1937 Septars.
And the loops for the carrying strap are at the sides, not offsett towards the center, like on most 8x60 of this model.

And a DF 7x50 with short eye cups on gas mask oculars.

    Hello Mikedenmark!

Thanks for the photos! Very interesting and informative!
    Especially on the binoculars 6x30.
Only once seen Kriegsmarine binoculars 6x30 on Ebay.
And I thought that it was a fake!)))

The dating is written on the back of photos?

Dates were either on the back of the photos, or on the related correspondance. That was a 10 inches pile of paper exclusively on binoculars between 1924 and 1939.
The 6x30 photo came with a letter dated Dec. 29th. 1927.

I went back and read through the descriptions as well.

The eye cups are moved up and down by turning the upper ring.
Almost one rotation will move the cups from lowest to highest position.

Below the upper ring, there are the ordinary ocular adjustments.

I didn´t see the double ring configuration, when I first saw the original Photo´s.
I just took the photo´s. Scanning was not allowed.
