Help needed to identify Kth 41 by bxx -what exactly is it?

Hi, I have an optical device of some sort, Kth 41, made by manufacturer code bxx, that can be plugged in and takes a bulb, You move the 2 arms and it moves the circular plate around. Does anyone know what it is, is used for and what it does?

    Thanks,

    Gerard

bxx is Askania. Possible Mauser99, I've had standard Luftwaffe film viewers before that were for topographical ariel photos, but this thing is much more elaborate and weighs a ton.

It's basically what you're already suspecting it's a kino (film) viewer for microfilm. you hook the film spool to one end and feed it through, view it through the ocular and the rotation allows you to look at the various corners of the frame as you're scrolling through.

Yes, it's for observational film taken by aircraft.
