Help with Sniper scope

Hello Guys,

I just got this scope on an auction and I was wondering if this model is a WW II type or post war?? I would like to have the scope install on my k98..what mount is required??

Id say with that base rail on it its post war sporting scope.

Hello,

many rail rifle scope are pre war. the serial makes this a Post WWII scope. probably 1948 is when roughly the factory started up again producing scopes.
