Looking for a 10 x 80 Flakglas

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a 10 x 80 Flakglas that is in good working order so it can be used for what it was made for.

Any tips as to what to look for and where to get a good one from are highly appreciated.

I know nothing about optics, what I am looking for is a powerful original german ww2 item that has to work very well. - I am not looking for a restauration project as I simply lack the knowledge.

1) Ebay (I think you know that already). Other militaria dealer sites on the web have them too, but will almost always be overpriced. See 2) below.

2) All 10x80 45 deg binoculars, including the boxed sets, have become GROSSLY overpriced due to collectors and dealers overvaluing, and rabid bidding wars over them in recent years.

3) the more cleaned up and restored the item is, the more sellers will want to charge you. I clean, repair, and restore all my own stuff.

4) expect to pay a lot more than the binoculars are truly worth. 10x80/45 deg glasses (with some exceptions) are not as rare and valuable as sellers would like you to believe.

Biete Flakglas in einwandfreiem Zustand

Hallo Fritz,
ich habe das richtige Flakglas 10x80 für dich.
Es ist in einem sehr guten Zustand.
Die Okulare sind rechts und links zu verstellen ( schärfe ) und das Fadenkreuz in den Linsen ist gut zu erkennen.
Die Augenweite und die Linsen von Klar bis Dunkel sind gut eizustellen.
Es war auch noch nie auseinander gebaut.

You will probably need a tripod because the 10x80 is not really a handheld binocular. Do you plan to get a complete tripod/cradle ( Gestell 38 ,Meßkreis etc )? an alternative is to make an adaptor to fit onto the base of 10x80 so that it can be placed on a tripod such as a Gestell 31 or a camera/telescope tripod. I can post pictures of an adaptor if you wish.
