    KZF2 early model ?

    Hello,

Just got this KZF2. Looks like an early model, unfortunately with no paint left.

    Well marked with Askania logo.

Sure Carles can compare with later models.

    Perhaps it's
    "Kugel-Zielfernrohr 2 KgZF 2"

Well, I've got these two, both by 'bpd' (I guess you know where one came from). The green one is a # 10xxx and the tan is a 14xxx. You can see that the tan is no so well finished and doesn't have a focusing knob.

But I've also got this KFF2 driver's optic. Construction is similar to your Askania, unfortunatelly it is stored and I can't remember the maker's code. Perhaps the KZF2 depicted in the manual is also an Askania.

            Hello Carles,

It definitely looks like the manual's picture. So definitely a early model, well finished, with focusing knob.

            Thanks for the info !

              Nice pics by all.

Yes, that KZF looks like early model. Askania and Goerz (bpd) were the normal secondary optics manufacturers for armor - they seemed to get the bear's share of the contract awards for the smaller turret ZFs and driver KFFs, anyway.
