    Wild Heerbrug 1944 Rangefinder

I have this rangefinder and I would like to know more about it.
I've seen other Wild Heerbrugg rangefinders but smaller than this one.
Does anyone know what the marking Sch. Flab Bttr. I/40 inside the case mean?

    Thank you!

    Hello Gom,

A very nice collection of Rangefinder and Tripod - I've never seen the correct tripod for a WILD Stereo 1,25m rangefinder before, how high is the tripod at its highest-extent once erected and steady?

Seeing as the battery-box has a Swiss cross, I'd suggest that the markings inside the lid of the box would refer to the Swiss Army Anti-Aircraft / Artillery battery that originally used the rangefinder.

Good luck with your search for more-detailed information,
    Paul

      check this link:
      http://www.google.dk/url?sa=t&rct=j&...rn0f4Q&cad=rja

      on page 4:
      Sch means schwer ( Heavy.)
      Flab Fliegerabwehr (Antiaircraft)
      Bttr. Batterie, (unit)

On page 17 it is stated that by october 1941, 370 1.25 meter rangefinders, made by Wild, has been delivered to the troops.

So, a nice WWII swiss rangefinder for heavy antiaircraft artillery.

Thank you both for the information.

The tripod is 160 cm high when fully extended.
