Hello all, I picked up a pair of binocs from an antique store today and know they are roughly from the WW2 to early postwar period, but am having problems finding enough info to correctly date and place these.
They came in a mottled brown Bakelite case with the makers marks in the bottom:
looks like hRs then 9951 in an oval and some curved line with numbers 32 and z2 visible. One of the posts in the forum said that hRs may be Giese Erich factory in Berlin manufacture
The binocs themselves have the following:
Left side:Inside a triangle of sorts
KP
Goerz
Bratislava
Right side: just stamped in
6x30
Polni Kukatko
vz 9/13
Some kind of a "G" or "C" with a little v on top of it and 52108
From what I can find so far, this may be either a set that was used by annexed forces during the war, or it could be a set from post war '46 russian assembled...
It's the bakelite case that gets me...
Any information anyone can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin Smith
