Spindler & Hoyer 6x30 Dienstglas Binos w/ Case with Compass on Lid - Opinions Please

I got these from a fellow collector and mentor many years ago when I first began to take a more serious interest in collecting militaria. He had picked them up in a Vet buy.

I had them sitting in storage for years and thought I would bring them out to share. I have come across several binoculars over the years, but none have been by Spindler & Hoyer and none have come in a case with a compass on top.

Do you believe these are original together? Both are early, that is for sure. How early?

    Thanks in advance

Spindler & Hoyer made German military binoculars during both WW I (Feldglas 08) and WW II (mostly, if not all, 6X30 Dienstglas) as well as civilian binocular in between. Your binocular is definitely German WW II because of the Dienstglas marking and H/6400 marking which is often seen on these binoculars referencing the graticule’s mil graduations. I think the binocular is probably of late 1930's - early 40's manufacture because there is no 3 letter code for manufaturer. I don't know if the case is original to binocular but I think I've seen older German binoculars with a compass on lid so it's possible it could be. Also, even if the case was not manufactured by Spindler & Hoyer, a German soldier may have still used it to carry binocular during its period of service.

                Thank you for your reply.

Maybe some WAF members have such a configuration or have seen one.
