My new and first bmj Binocs with Case

Just got this in. Case is in nice shape. Optics clear but clicked with adjustment when I focused them in, not sure if thats good or bad. Im no expert and dont want to fiddle around too much. Looks like marked bmj 410 and then a 3 or just 410?? DF? 10 x50 Difficult to read as there is some corrosion. I hope the experts can let me know what they think. Reek of stale cig smoke though....

Can someone confirm the binocs themselves are pre 45??

    Please?

Without even seeing the code, I can tell you that they are made by Hensoldt, and are definately war-time. Nice pair that anyone would like to have in their collection.

War time piece without doubt, a great pair with match case.

        Love those bmj.

Can you clean the paint from the body? I mean the other side that are not in those photos...

You get a great bargain, the guy unfortunately didn't knew what was selling or his father never told him what was all about

Hey, I guess you saw them too, I thought I saw them late and was surprised they were still around...why didnt you grab them? Seller wouldnt ship them overseas?

Regarding the paint, not too sure, will look at it closer later...I just might leave them as is for now.

They do reek of cig smoke!

Sadly the seller had nothing else to offer.

          Cheers

Great set! The shoulder strap for the case is tough to find as well.

Regarding the paint which is not visible in your photos, you are wise to let it be for now, and later, if you are sure it is not evidence of some wartime servicing and do decide to clean, proceed very carefully. If it were mine, it would get advice from someone knowledgeable about paints on how to remove without removing the tan underneath.
