Hello Paul,

Your's is a very nice and complete early one but I believe the rubber head pad is no the original for that optic. Please see these two boxes:

Yes, used for Stugs, SPA and tank hunters like Hetzers. I believe it is the optic for direct shooting as the Rblf 32 or 36 would be used if indirect fire.

I found this pic in the internet (sorry can't remember where, perhaps related to Parola Panzer Museum). It seems to be taken from the drivers position looking backwards in a StuG III. You can see the Sfl.Z.1a's box just at the end, on the floor.

What is the price range for such a optic. I ask because i have really no idea. But my Grandfather served in a Stug unit and i guess he aimed through a optic like this
at the russian T34

Thanks Carles for the info and the photos i wonder where the lamp and bulbs for the optics has gone , i'll have to try and get one from somewhere.

Any idea what the rubber head pad is from , it came in the box together with the sight etc ?
