HELP! MG42 tripod mount- good?

Hello,

I am in holidays in Ecuador and have found someone offering a MG42 1941 dated mount -what is a good price? - it originally came with the battery and scope for nightvision but was stolen several years ago with the metal display plate- I will send pictures later but was wondering if anyone could help me- I am buying it in 30 minutes!

It is painted a desert tan color, comes with several tools and what looks like a MG42 ammo box.

Any help would be appriciated, pics coming soon!

I am not sure that mg42's that came out in late 1942 or early 1943 would have a mount dated 1941. Are you sure it is not a mg34 mount?

Couldn't it be a modifed MG34 lafette to fit an MG42, as yugos did?

Could be, I am trying to get the pictures up but I am sure it is an original- also I might buy the Associated membership if anyone can recommend it
