Pol. Dienstglas markings? What do they mean?

Saw a pair of 10X50's with a Pol. Dienstglas marking, and the 10x50 under that. What does Pol. Dienstglas mean? Are these civillian, political, military...don't know? Thanks, Chris..

      Hi ChrisCook and Cobra-2001,
I was looking at those on UK Ebay too. The Ebay vendor says they are German Police issue. Interesting that they are the same as the German Army spec in terms of presence of individual eye focus and reticle etc.
BTW Hensoldt 6x30 Pol dienstglas also can be seen from time to time.It appears that Hensoldt had a German Police contract to supply 10x50 and 6x30 binocs. This Hensoldt "Pol dienstglas"contract markings does not appear to be referred to in Stephen Rohan or Hans Seeger's standard texts on military binos.
