ZF4 sun shade on ebay for sale

Just noticed that someone has posted a ZF4 sun shade on ebay for sale. Looks to be repro but the seller says he isn't sure. According to other forum members, the repros were selling for big bucks a while back, so this may be a nice one to pick up. I have a lot of hospital bills, so I'll probably pass.

P.S.: I looked for these a few weeks back and couldn't find ANY for sale ANYWERE except from a nice forum member who was willing to part with a repro. one from his collection and a European who had an original for 300 Euros but, as mentioned, the doctors are gettin' the majority of my bucks right now.

I thought so too. But even the nice repros. were selling for over $100 a couple months back from what other forum members were telling me. A guy in Europe with an original one quoted me 300 Euros for his original sun shade.

This is a bad fake. Do not lose money on it. As for prices, I sold one of my scopes with original shade last sunday and got only EUR 250 for the ensemble. The seller is a pole who often sells crap for high money.

Yeah. I got a hold of Meopta and they are sending me 2 sun shades for my repro. ZF4 scope. But even those are 50 Euros. After a long time of looking around, they were the only game in town for gettin' a repro. one besides an overpriced repro. a forum member offered me ($180) and the orig. one from a guy in Europe (300 Euros). I wanted to finish my BD44 with the repro. ZF4 scope, repro. mount, repro. rubber eye pc. and cover, and repro. sunshade. But hey, it's a repro. gun so WTF.

Guys the sun shade which the guy in Poland is selling is the real deal. If anybody wants to know how to tell a fake from the real German WW2 production just let me know.

What do you think would be a "fair" price for the an original?

FEI: The repro. ones I received from Meopta are not correct in shape from what I can see in pic comparisons and they have an almost phosphate finish to them - not what I was looking for. However, they do fit perfectly on the scope.

Original sun shades in good condition go for about $350.00 to $550.00. The one on ebay is original, but the condition is poor. Myself, I would not pay anymore than $150.00 for it.

I placed 1 of the reproduction ZF4 sun shades I bought from Meopta on GB today. I set the price for what I paid for it + shipping. Given that they initially shipped this to me from Europe, do you think they charged me too much?
