FELDGLAS 08 Spindler & Hoyer binocular question.

I have a pair of these binoculars and was wondering if someone can give me a little information on them: history, use, quality, etc.

And who is the expert on German binoculars?
Or where can I get the best information on them?

    Hi steelhelmJim,
one of the standard texts for binos of Germany is Stephen Rohan's , A Guide to Handheld Military Binoculars. P61 describes the Fernglas '08. The fernglas were issued to non-commisioned officers .They were made from 1908-1919.They are soundly made and robust. Quite a number were sold in the USA after WW1 ,and these have a distinctive "Made in Germany" stamped on the bottom hinge end plate
