Thus the plot thickens:
The SF:
below the oculars and lower prism covers,is a combination scissor hinge and bearing circle (meßkreis ) which conforms to WW2 Russian SF's designs. Above this it looks very WW2 German as per S.F.14 ZGi.( eg the parallel tubes and top prism covers).
The German WW2 S.F.14.ZGi had the tripod attachment at the bottom of the scissor hinge. This assembly could be fitted on top of an independent bearing circle and the two devices than fitted on top of a tripod- (if needed) .
The magnification device:
this is an attachment to increase the magnification from 10x to 20x and was used by the Russians and NVA on their SF's. This magnification device has not been established to be a Wehrmacht optical device.
The SF 14 photographed here is calibrated in a 6000 mil scale so it was a WW2 /post WW2 Eastern Bloc device.
My guess is its a cold war National Volkesarmee SF.
