    Monocular scope help

Hello, aquired from the woodwork a couple of days ago. Would this be considered a hand held spotting device? Can anyone tell me the meaning of the yellow band? Best, Bill Bourque

It's Zeiss, and could have been manufactured in the interwar period, mayhaps between 1923 and 1927, would have to check my old catalogs. Zeiss made a lot of hunting observation equipment during those years after WW1, and this might be one of those sporting observation monocular items, mounted for a tripod. The yellow band is for the proper placement into its crate or case.
