What Is It?

Brown leather case containing a scope. No idea what it was used for. It was in with some German material. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi There,

I have seen one of these once and the fellow who owned it told me that it was a scope for looking down inside the barrel of a K98. How much of what he said was true I can't say. As it was the only example I've seen and that's the only story I've heard I'll have to go with that. Maybe someone else knows for sure. Hope that helps a little.

Looks like a periscope to me. I know snipers used them.
