Help with binos.

Picked these up last week. Distinctly german bakerlite case but with no WaA markings. 6x30 binos with hammer & syckle markings and number only. Any info on the binos would be great.

Russian - don't feel to bad - my first set from a well know English dealer ( Michael Long of Nottingham) were supposed to be a "Luftwaffe" set - in a " Luftwaffe powder blue case".
Turned out to be a German civilian set in an Imperial Japanese "powder blue case".

Yes, I know they are Russian, the hammer & syckle kinda gave it away ! But can anyone tell me anything more about them, date, manufacturer, etc and possibly why they are in the bakerlite case ?
Did the german bino companies supply the Russian army pre-war?

The carrying strap of the box does not look German to me.

As for the box, it may be a captured German, I guess the russians got tens of thousands of binoculars - and boxes - through the war.

Can you show pictures of the box? What are the markings on it? Does it have mark on the closing bar? Does it have a small circle mark inside on the bottom?

The case has the bakerlite manufacture circle mark in the bottom (monogram 'TTL' or something). Also has a small rectangle there with a 5 didgit number, as part of the bekerlite 'casting'. No other markings anywhere else on it. My other casi I have is identical but with the addition of a WaA mark on one of the leather belt loops.
The strap struck me also as not being German, there is a stamped mark on the end of it, a small eclipse with what looks like the letters 'eco' within it.
The binos are excelent quality and optics good, with the range/angle graticules in the right side.
Cant get any other pics at the moment.

The lack of WaA is not a problem, I have seen perfect German cases without WaA. Seems it is original German case, re-used by the russians. from what I see on the photos - the D-ring, the inside of the lid, the edge - looks perfectly good German case.

the factory is: Gebrüder Merten, Gummersbach.

the material is: Synthetic material with Asbestos or alternatively an organic filler.

Thats great, thanks. Happy that the case is confirmed as German, as the set did not cost much.
Any russian bino experts out there ? would like to know more about the binos if possible.
