            Hi Andy,
            Very nice pick up
Rubbers look to be in good shape as well!

Any idea as to what U-boat the guy that surrendered belonged to?

            Cheers,
            Brett

Here are two pairs of optics. I will include any details determined from my research here on the forum. Any correction of misinterpretation on my part will be appreciated, please.

As well, I would like some feedback on the serial numbers on both items which might indicate year of production and by whom.

First: Dienstglas 6x30, serial number 268379, by ddx. "triangle" (Voigtlaender & Sohn, AG, Braunschweig - I believe). There is a "Materialpruefungsamt" logo and press work code T2 stamped on the inside bottom of the case. The leather straps holding the top of the brown, bakelite carrying case are maker and Waffenamt-stamped "jhg44" and "WaA41" (Gustav Genschow & Co., A.G.) on the bottom portion. I believe that the carrying strap attached to the binoculars is original to the piece, however, not the long shoulder strap clipped onto the bakelite case. A grid-scale can be seen when looking through the optics.

Second: 7x50 Leitz ("beh" marked) navy issue binoculars (eagle over M), serial #340993 and nautical #21914; also "N" (Nordsee), KF (Kalte Fett) and "T" (Transparentenbelag) marked. The rainguard is also attached.

                Thanks in advance,
                John
