unknown box Gr W 35

i have an unkown box market Fl Gr W(35) nicly market inside with WAa en B&C
It has the size of an batterybox but cut in halve.
the beltloop is gone
can someone tell me what it was used for

I have the same one but more complete and without his optic
It is marked Dr. Wöhler Kassel and waffenhamt
I still don't know who it 's the optics which goes inside
the markings show that it is for a leight mortar (leichte granatewerfer) but
I know only 5cm L GrW (36)
perhaps for sighting????
