Unknown blc monocular for 4 metre range finder.

I have been fortunate to have had the chance to buy one of the three momoculars shown from a friend of mine.
They were for use on a 4 metre range finder - the optic is not listed in Hans Seegers "Grey book" , my friend has been in tocuh with Dr. Seeger who has not seen an example of this blc.
My friend tells me it is power 8 magnification , four coloured internal filter, with good eye relief.
Interestingly one of the filters is red.
It seems to have mounted on the side of the R.F., numbered 1-3 which is common for the 12x60 optics used on the 4m RF.
The eye cups have degraded on the examples shown , although the fitting on which the eye cup was mounted can be seen on one of the three shown. ( On the right).
The eye cup is similar to that which was used on the 10x45 monocular shown in Dr. Seegers book page , 224 . - a "fake" / left eye cup to allow for user comfort and stability.

I hope to have my own example in the next week or two and am more than grateful to my good friend Peter for the opportunity to buy an example.

There are certainly a few surprises still "out there".

8x40 blc monocular

The blc ( No.2) which I bought arrived with me this morning.
It is a focus optic 8 x40 , 3 x coloured filter with graticule in situ.
I has though that it was a fixed focus optic but a friend pointed out to me a diopter setting which I had missed. number = 4 to minus 4.
the cover for the graticule sdjustemtn is also siezed up.
Will have to get it cleaned and lubricated to free both.
In common with the 12x60 there are two ports which allow for adjusting the position of the graticule within the optic.
The rubber eye cup has perished over the years but apart from dust on the exterior it is clean.
Graticule is marked from 0-40 on both axis , figures and points only.

There is a light port for a bulb but the section (bottom part) of the chamber which accomadated the bulb is missing.
(The top of the chamber can be moved L-R to open / close the light aperature into the optic.)
Paint surface is intact - a fine grained black finish.

No indication of year of manufacture.
My friend (Peter , from whom I bought it) has told me that the Museum at Koblenz has no knowledge of the optic , nor does Hans (Seeger).

The fitting and mounting block which allows it to be attached to the side of the 4 metre range finder is still attached , the standard of engineering is excellent.
At the moment I can't see any sign of a serial number.
