    blc + Dienstglas 10x50 Binos

I have a pair of blc + marked Dienstglas binoculars. They are 10x50. There is a number that I believe is a serial number of 2213534There is no waffenamt that I can find on them. The stap is marked however "dow" and dated. The case is marked just onder the flap with what I think is "hie" and the date. Also there is a waffenamt WaA 380? These glasses are in excellent condition with clear optics.

Can anyone tell me more about them? Any ideas on value?

    Thanks in advance.

    Captain Emu,

You bino's were made in the second half of '43 by "Carl Zeiss Militarabteilung, Jena, Germany", as indicated by the "blc" marking.

The "+" indicates the type of grease used in the bino's, in this case type 1442 grease servicable to -40 degrees celsius.

"dow" on the strap is the code for "WAFFENWERKE BRUNN A.G. (1943-OPTICOTECHNA GmbH) PRERAU CZECH". Not the original strap for the bino's.

"hie" doesn't exist that I know of so I can't say about the case, and waffenamt "380" doesn't exist either that I know of.

Maybe the case is a reproduction? I don't know.....

Value depends and without seeing a pic it is hard to tell.....bino's on their own maybe $120-$160 U.S.

    Cheers,
    Brett

      Thanks Brett.

The markings on the case could be "hle"? And the waff could be WaA 328? Or maybe WaA 329.

I found a case like this on another militaria site for $199. The binos were over $300.

I'll post a few pictures when my wife leaves. I noticed the name "NATOLI" lightly scratched on them. You wouldn't see it if you weren't looking for it. I wonder who's side he was on?

        Hi,
If it is "hle" then it is "Lilpop, Rau u. Loewenstein AG, Warschau" but I can't confirm this companies waffenamt number. Sounds as if the case is an original as well.

I actually just picked up a nice pair of 10x50 blc 2 weeks ago, serial #2210957.

        Cheers,
        Brett

            "22"

Checked my own set which is "younger" than the two shown - the "22" set me off to do it.
"22152". , other than this the same markings.
Graticule in the set as well , lens unciated with is standard for D.glas .

Came across this old topic because I was looking for info about the WaA380 stamp and what is stated above is incorrect. WaA380 does exist, but was used for calculating tools. Made by Gebr. Wichmann in Berlin.
