      Can't find the link !!

Yuri, there is a link on the site somewhere to a gent in Norway who has one of these - some fanatastic photos on his website of these babies being used by he and his family.
From what I understand very rare twins to have
Something about a big Zeiss objective that just melts my heart,
They are signals equipment related but , blast I wish I could find that link . (Sorry).

Perhaps these guys could help you if you emailed them, it seems like a comprehensive site.

Actually, I know what they are:

This is a set of Lichsprechgeräte 80/80 or "Light - speech transmitter/receivers". You speak into a microphone connected to one of these units, and another person hears you with headphones up to 4 kilometers away with another of these units - through a directed light beam. The small middle window is an optical sight (like a sniper rifle) to target the other Li. Spr. 80/80

I have been quite fortunate to have purchased two complete sets along with the accompanying electronics, cables, tripods, microphones and headsets. Each set includes a full reserve cache of spare light-bulbs and photo-elements. These sets were manufactured in 1940, and were stored at the Zeiss factory until the end of the war. A US veteran took these sets and wrapped them in a 1945 victory newspaper. He brought them back as a war trophy to the US, and now I have them, along with that 1945 newspaper. The condition of all parts is just amazing. I can't wait to build two power supplies for them, and test them out somewhere in the country. The optics will require careful cleaning ofcourse, but that's the fun part.

Helge Fykse's site will be referred to in my write-up, since his description of the Li. Spr. 80/80 is the best (and only one) on the Web.

                  Thanks Lolle.

Lolle , thanks for the link.
                  Your sets ?
Extremely impressed by them - excellent bit of gear.
I would love to know more about them how they work , their exact purpose , optical qualities.
Never seen anything like this before - very intersting items.
                  Lucky man Yuri.

I have about 10 more projects before I can get to these, but they will be working perfectly by the time I'm done with them.

I'd say about $4000 to $5000 for a set. Depends on the condition though.
