Binoculars - Model Identification

Afternoon everyone,

This is a picture of Hauptmann Everth of AA.3, 21 Panzer Division in Afrika shortly after he got the Ritterkreuz in July 1942.

Can anyone identify the model of binoculars he is using? They seem to be of 6x30 size but the straight eye-pieces don't look like the usual design and the lens looks too deep for them to be the usual model but without the eye-pieces. Any ideas?

Maybe a French capture or Zeiss Deltrentis?
