It took a while, but check out Hyposkop. WWI.

    2 different models existed.
    one 1,6 - 3,2 meter and the other 1,6 - 3,8 meter height.

German designation: Grosse Batterie Fernrohr. G.B.F. (Large artillery unit binocular)

Seeger names 3 references: Schwarte 1920, König 1923 and König/Köhler.
Zeiss has an advertising print dated 1910.
So, the Zeiss Archive may be able to find it from Hyposkop.

I have Schwarte here somewhere. I can check what he writes about it.Schwarte does not have any illustrations.

I recall having seen postcards with this instrument in use.

UPDATE: This appears to be an export model. I have nothing about the german army model should have a choice between two magnifications.
The shield with the star and the text on the plate below the Zeiss logo will tell which country bought it. The shield indicate it was Chile.

Impressive that one still exist. Total weight should be 140 kilo.

Update. Earliest reference I can find is from 1904.
I may have a video with a copy of the instrument. Way out, I know.

Too narrow searching. Try go for Hyposcope.
