A question about codes on a KM 7x50 set of binos.

A question about codes on a KM 7x50 set of binos.

I recently held one but didnt have my phone with me to take pics.

It has the KM eagle on the right side.

    BLC 7x50

    Big numbers 3108

then under the eagle it has M/IV/1.

Any idea what the numbers and letters mean?

Ill get over there in a week or so and take some pics..

    thanks J

M/IV/1 is the navy acceptance office control marking. It means the binocular has been tested and conform to the standards set up for acceptance by the navy.
Basically, a control at the factory that it is okay.
Earlier versions of the marking was an eagle over a simple M. Later in the war, they changed it to M, a roman number and a arabic number. IV/1 is the number for the office responsible for optical instruments.

The number cannot be right. The first 25,000 blc numbers were all for Dienstglas 10x50.

It will probably have a 5 digit serial number

I wonder if your binoculars are 7x50H porro II? Pics are welcome!

Not exactly, maybe Jumper's binos are very late 7x50H model with "blc" mark on the left. I have a similar pair with CZ logo:

IsnĀ“t there a serial number somewhere at either end of the center axis?
                      7 Digit, first should be a "1"
