I'm thinking of buying this. Seller wants $225. I haven't seen nice ones in that range for awhile. What does everyone think of vfc this ring?

Well the pattern itself is a known good WW2 pattern....
This pattern though has been copied very well. Usually the let downs are the newer 'quick enamel' , thick band, and the hallmark..
These were hallmarked usually. IF this one has one get photos and it should be clear and readable even on a worn ring..
The band does look nice and thin [good]...
The enamel must be real glass fired enamel and only a hot pin test will tell you that [red hot pin and really stick it in to the yellow. The new quick enamels are very hard so don't be afraid. You will not hurt real enamel.. IF your concerned about doing the test bring it to a friendly jeweler,,he should be able to tell you...
Appears to have nice wear to it,,,also make sure there is a joining/sizing seam towards the rear of band [kind of see it in photo]... Good luck with it...

Thanks Gaspare,
It does have the 835 hallmark, the only photo of it on the site is blurry but it looks like the 835 Frey mark.
It also has the thin line in the back of the ring.
My only concern is the small spot on the enamel, it almost looks like a pin test mark that did damage, but it could easily be something else.
Would $225 be a good price if the ring is original? I'm right on the border with this one...
