to add to the topic, I found this on the Marshals Baton. There were a few high ranking generals who wore this type of breast eagle.

The starter example is a repro. In terms of overall form it’s nicely done, but a repro nonetheless. Shoddy details and construction (not to mention the wire used).

The one in post three is an amazing example.

It's all about the wire IMO........ the first eagle posted is a nicely done reproduction, but a reproduction, none the less.

Considering this IS a fake it's quite skillfully made and must of taken a considerable investment in time

In certain countries they will make a bird like this for maybe $ 1.-, the profits are huge..
Many stupes in our countries will take one, so we've their power vs our weakness..
Fakes are invented for stupes, those without the right knowledge, it's a fact, infact.. and it will go on and on...
A large part of dealers, good or bad, are also involved in this game, that's another fact, otherwise the damage would be less..
When $$ rule, you've to look over your shoulder every minute, that's also a fact ..
We've to deal with many facts and they all start with a fake.

This pictured breast eagle is for Goring's white uniform. The quality of his eagles were much higher than most other General officers. Goring's breast eagles were even much better than Milch's eagles in terms of quality.
