Officer Luft Tunic - Good - Decent Price?

I am not a huge fan of the Officers Gaberdine tunics - just personal taste. This is a local vet - spent 8 years in Germany in the US army - good guy - has large collection of German military. He tells me the pieces he replaced missing eagles, badged, repaired etc. This one he said was rock solid and not buggered with. Asking $900 but will come down - its got great wear to the liner, grubby its, some OLD period repairs - but seems to be a solid tight piece. Want to run it through here though - was not sure of the placement of the hand sewn eagle and the stitching on the collar tabs.

Agreed. A fantastic piece is currently on the e-stand, an Oberleutnant flight piped Fliegerbluse, would be a great acquisition.

Yeah - I got the feeling the patches were off - but in the US when you hit military shows - 99% of what you see if POS. In other words a bunch of dudes out to bend you over. This guy was in Germany and stationed there for 8 years in the mid 80's. He collected then - given a Service man's pay is not much - so he bought what he could afford. I posted here to get the feedback - I think POS pretty much says it all!

Also at the military shows I'm seeing nothing but online buyers selling for high retail. This makes collecting a bitch because I'm not paying those prices and without handling a LOT of the real deal - you will never know what the real deal is.

I got suckered on a pair of Luft gloves by a big dealer - good that I got a full refund - but the fact that these were EVER listed is a joke. They were East Block junk with die leeching out.

And there are fakes sold on this board too. I've seen them - badges, tunics, etc.
