Walking out uniform shoes/boots?

Just wondering what type of footwear would have beeen appropriate for wear with a walking out uniform (straight leg trousers and Tuchrock, etc.).

I received a pair supposed NOS civy or private purchase boots yesterday but, while they have the features of period boots, the condition seems too good to be true. Mexico? Portugal? Original?

My only possibly positive observation is that the rubber heels are made by Continental, a large manufacturer of tyres during the period you want.
