    Luftwaffe Flight/Para NCO Tunic....thoughts?

    Hello all,

I bought this from another forum member and based on my comparisons it looks 100% authentic to me. It looks like it has natural wear on it and the eagle looks good. It has 3 sets of loops for awards and what looks to be a set of loops for a ribbon bar or clasp.

This is my first tunic so I don't have much to compare it to. So, I would like the opinions of the forum. Please let me know the good, the bad and the ugly!

    Thank you in advance!

          Private purchase (tailor-made) tuchrock.

Officer-quality fabric, with the addition of an officer-style eagle.

I would say that this (going by it's condition) was reserved for 'walking-out', ie best dress uniform.

                Hello!

Its a nice tunic, but IMHO the agle Is post war sewing. The seam looks too much crude to have been made during the war. The period jacket I've come across, mostly the aging ones, had always the eagle almost amalgated to the breast and the seam almost hidden in the wool of the eagle's backing...

                Best,

                    Hello Frank,

I did actually notice the sewing of the eagle looked "different" compared to another eagle on a tunic that I am buying as well. I don't have that tunic in hand now but I will attach the pic of that eagle for comparison. I do agree the sewing on my initial tunic looks different. But then again I didn't know if that was ok or not. As mentioned this is my 1st tunic. I will post better pics of the eagle when I get home as well as the inside of the tunic.

                    Thank you for the feedback.

                        Hello all

Members have requested I post photos of the tunic that the 2nd eagle (zig zag sewn) came from. Full disclosure though, I do not physically have the tunic in my possession yet but will soon. The seller is a forum member. Enjoy! IMG_8852.JPGIMG_8853.JPG

Hi David , never owned a NCO private purchase tunic, but as others have stated it looks a nice original . and i would be happy to have it myself . As for the 2nd tunic , the fligerbluse it was one i was thinking of purchasing when it was on e-stand , but work is not secure at the moment, so things are on hold . but its a great looking fligerbluse which i would love to own a great start to any luft tunic collection best martin.

Many thanks for the extra pictures.

The fliegerbluse looks ok, too, although too "new" for my personal taste

Here are some better close ups of the eagle. Sorry it took so long. Work was busy this week!
