    Hi!

I think it's an Austrian suit from the time between ww1 and ww2.

At the moment I can't find the picture where it was worn...

Edit: Also Czechoslovakia is possible. I just found this: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t+suit+austria

    Best regards,
    Lukas

        Hello Lukas and Jan,
Thanks for your help. I did not believe it was German issue as the seller had assumed.

I have seen on of these suits in Luftwaffe service somewhere, I think from the winter of 1939-40. Had always assumed that this was an Austrian suit, as one came out of Gordon Gollob's estate. But you fellows know a great deal more than I do. I will try to find the photo... perhaps in the Day Fighters book, by Held, but that is packed away!

I had one of these type of flight suits, except with the fur collar. This style was used by a number of countries in the 1930's and early 1940's from countries under the old Austria Hungarian Empire. When the Germans took over Austria, they also took over the Austrian stocks of these flight suits. Here is a picture of Me-109 pilot Uffz. Josef Ganster who was killed in France on 19 June 1940 wearing the same suit with a fur collar. Here is another thread that discusses this suit. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=652922

Here is a picture of pilots from the WW2 Slovakian Air Force. Again, this type of flight suit was used by a number of European countries.
