Aluminium Breast Eagle

Hi guys, this is a recent purchase with a Glider badge which came indirectly from an English vet. Am I right to assume it is for the summer tunic, I am more familiar with cloth Eagles?

Nice original.
Yes, it's a Summer tunic eagle, but it was also worn on the blue wool tunics, leather jackets, tropical jackets, even saw them on Winter fur caps.

Hi Greg
I agree with Jos, very nice original Luftwaffe summer eagle but I beleive it is a Kupal bird (copper coated aluminum) not a pure aluminum specimen. I attached pictures of mine (same eagle design & hardware) and you can see the delineation where the silvered copper layer meets the aluminum on the third angled picture. Also interesting to note is that most specimens of this variant I have seen have a caracteristic "3 prong hairline crack" on the back
