Luft trop tunic and a cap...

Ok guys so this is the uniform that came with that cool luft belt I posted a month or so ago. I have the chance to pick it up but since I don't collect luft stuff I would like to solicit some more experienced opinions.

The base tunic seems fine to me and the eagle is obviously replaced with a shirt eagle and the boards look to be shirt boards as well. It seems to me that the eagle had a pin on at some point? Is this normal for luft tunics or not? I know most had embroidered eagles but am guessing like anything else people did some funky stuff.

I also need a few opinions on value, I don't want to overpay. I have an idea of what its worth and what untouched originals go for. Lets hear some opinions.

The cap I believe to be an unused original and supposedly came from the same guy. Matt

Cap looks good Matt. I still don't know why Hoffmann stamped that circle in their caps, it's a mystery.

the basic tunic is a good period made piece,eagle is a replaced fake shirt type IMO,the boards look shirt type but better photo is needed to say if original.
I would not pay for this more than 700- 800 eur if the straps are bad,a 100 eur more if the straps are ok.
The cap looks good to me too,nice earlier Hoffmann cap.

P.S.I would recommend you to wait for a original badged tunic

Hi Matt, I agree with Gustav. Fake shirt eagle, but nice cap. The tunic could be restored to match the outline of the original eagle, but the value would not be the same as an originally sewn eagle.

It all depends what your intentions are. Keep it has a veteran grouping, or move it along.
