A white flying helmet? Or is it yellow? Painted?

The white look can be caused the light conditions.

If the light was bright enough to make the leather of the earphone covers look white, I would think this guy would have melted.

Had a leather light grey one once but think it would look darker than the photo.

It's a white flight cap, the guy is Erwin Fischer, 1./Fernaufklärungs-Gruppe 121 ..
Here few small pics where you can see it compared to a white visor cap.

I've seen inflatable swimmingvest in a very light color, so in a pic they will look like white.
This guy operated in a glass cockpit in tropical areas I believe, so the white color was probably to reflect sun light to reduce the heat, just my guess.
                    Nevertheless a very interesting cap.

                      Hi Jos!

Some time ago I got this picture and remembered your thread!

It also shows Fischer with his white N101, which seems to be a 2nd type, as he holds a 3 point mask in his hands.

There was also a similar one for sale at Emig:

                      Best regards,
                      Lukas

Looks like he is wearing an RAF Irvin flight jacket.

                            Nice pictures

And I agree that the flight helmets in the pictures are looking white.

Post some pictures of the light colored flight helmet for future reference.
