    Battle of Britain Display

A few weeks back, I put on a small display of Battle of Britain artifacts, at the bicester Heritage Centre Flywheel show, had lots of interest from the public. The display was a mix of RAF, Luftwaffe and Home Guard items, to represent the B of B period.

Hi Gary, looks great, and helps to increase public interest in history. Must admit I'm a sucker for "RAF, Luftwaffe and Home Guard items" and have all three in my collection! The Battle of Britain period is a fascinating time to study.

        Regards, Paul

I commend you for putting together this display together. I bet it turned a few heads!

Can we see more of the swastika panel? What aircraft is it from? seems to have a few bullet holes in it.

I love this period, it really fascinates me. I got a RAF scramble bell last month of ebay for £450.00 that I am having currently having a suspension frame made for.

Is that a real UXB sticking into the ground?

I'll start a different thread under 'scramble bell' when I get the frame It only dawned on me yesterday when I saw the flypast that it is 75 years since the BoB. My bell is dated 1940.

Very nice. Really nice display. I agree with others about the aircraft panel. Can we please see more photos and do you know the history?
                          Regards,
                          Andy

Thankyou for all your replies, here is a picture of the panel, out of it's display case. It is from a Bf110 and was removed wartime from the Oxford/Cowley metal reclaimation yard, behind the Morris Motors Factory. It was removed by an engineer from the factory, who upon learning that anyone caught removing any aircraft parts, would be fined and possible prosecuted, put the panel in his attic, only for it to reappear after his death and when his wife downsized and cleared the house.
                            Regards
                            Gary
