Hi, picked this greatcoat up recently, I think it might be unissued, almost no wear, what there is might just be on and off mannequins over the years! Hope you like it. Took a chance on the size, it's small at 88cm chest but luckily it just fits my (one and only) mannequin (from Historia mannequins) which has a 90cm chest, although I wouldn't be able to get a fliegerbluse underneath. Even though it's small it's still surprisingly bulky, I imagine larger sizes, and especially the blanket lined 'Wacht Mantels' must be huge. I can't permanently display it so being relatively less bulky is no bad thing when it comes to storing it. I've never owned a greatcoat before, but I came to the conclusion that they can be very versatile and you can portay almost any rank or unit easily, which is good as I have plenty of shoulder boards without a permanent home! Had a look at Bill Petz's superb "RGG & HG Portraits" thread (again!)

and found that both before and after the Oct 1942 collar tab drop, Hermann Goring cuff-titles are rarely worn (though did see one or two examples) on the greatcoat by HG soldiers.
Took some pictures of a few combinations, with various branches, ranks, headgear portraying 1943/ 44. I also recently acquired a stone mint "L" marked buckle (Noelle & Hueck, Lüdenscheid), which I thought went well with the greatcoat's condition.
I'll start with the vendors pictures.
The RBNr. reads:- 0/0448/0148 - is anyone familiar with that one? (Tried a search without success)
Appears to be LBA (B) - Berlin, dated 1943
with size stamps:-
46 49
88
133 70
The buttons are unmarked at the rear.
Regards, Paul
