Here's one that just came in, it's a bit ratty but a honest one.

This guy had a bunch awards judging by all the loops. I wonder what was above the left pocket, there was definitely something interesting there.

The crackerjack prize inside the lower right pocket was a small but nice bonus and a clue to one of the awards.

Nice. Like the bonus BeVo sports badge too!
Most likely this Oberstlt was a WW1 vet, hence the amount of loops...
Probably has a WW1 EK2 with weiderholungsspange (1939 eagle badge,
which used up the 4 center loops, throw in a flyers badge and wound badge + another badge (sports).

Thanks Nick! The 1914 EK with spange above is a safe bet. For display a Para badge could even be squeezed into the mix to spice it up. I really wish there was an id tag in this one.

I think I'll slip the Sport badge into a baseball card holder and just leave it in the pocket for any future owners. It will also help to "feel" that there is something in the pocket.

Of course I meant to write WW1 EK1 with WW2 birdie on top! Yes a safe bet!
Instead of sticking that BeVo sports insignia hidden away in the pocket, I'll gladly take it for a friendly fee and display it!
It's not like its a named piece with proof that the insignia belonged to the officer of this tunic. That's speculation.
