    Flight personnel medical kits question

    Hi Guys,
Just a question if I may it, I have checked Prodger book on Flight Equipment regarding flying personnel first aid kits, my question is, is their other types than shown in the book on page 110&111?. for instance I have seen a type recently that came in a Blue type overnight shaving bag, with a red cross on it, and I list of the contents printed on the outside, the kit contained an arm sling bandage like the one in prodger book, and a spare unprinted armband, a can of Sparta crème, a compression bandage with sting around it, a tourniquet belt, a flat cardboard with webbing straps on it. and safety pins, a long pair of scissor type with a knob on the end, and what looks like a long red tube(flare?). Another sky blue labelled tin with dallmann? written on it.
    Sorry for the long description,
I have done a search on Waf, but could not locate any threads, If I missed it, can someone point me to them, also, does this kit sound correct, as I am thinking of buying it, but I am unsure of their values also.
Thanks for you help in advance

      Hi Andy ,
Take you for taking the time to respond with a link, and yes that is the one, I thought I may have been a one man life boat one as well, according to the print on the exterior, as Jos suspects.
      Cheers

I personally think and don't know better than that this kinda pouch belonged to the bigger life boats, not to the one man life boat.
The one man life boat was no more than only the boat, while the survival items and 1st aid items were hanging around the pilots body.
Bomber crew were more lucky, all stuff was already present in the big boat and they had oars and a sail, while the single pilot had to row with his hands and make a sail by using his flag and pole.

        Jos.

Small & Fighter aircraft had an external hatch access to a compartment where a small first aid kit was stored. It could be accessed by someone outside in the event of a crash-landing or incapacitation of the pilot. It was a different type, smaller. This is/was for sale on a website .... I think is is the type carried in the aircraft itself, and the wash-bag style was carried on the large lifeboat

Thank you Andy, Jos and Harry, for your input to my question, I thought the one in Andys link, perhaps did not contain enough supplies, to be for a large crew, to be in a larger life boat, but, if only one person survives to use the raft, a smaller kit is perhaps all is needed and as Jos mentions, each pilot could carry his on personal kit on him. Harry I find the external compartment first kit interesting.
Thank you guys for your answers.
            Cheers

Here is a pic of a Bf109, the first aid access hatch is marked with a small cross on a white roundel, and is on the white border of the Black cross on the fuselage....
