    Junkers Ju 52 engine cowling

This is currently on it's way to me from Russia, the seller claims he found it in Stalingrad. I've asked him where exactly but he hasn't replied yet. I'd imagine it will be close to one of the airfields like Gumrak or Pitomnik.

Could someone give me an exact translation of what is written on the inspection hatch please?

It took me awhile to figure out what aircraft the cowling came from but then I found these photos and I knew I was on the right track.

Here is the exact same cowling in place on the inside of the starboard wing motor.
It's the only photo I could find on the net of this area.
You can just about see the square inspection sliding cover and circular hole next to it.

Nice, would the wording be something like: 'Beware of Motor engaging' ...

              Hi,
Great piece no doubt with some history, unless the aircraft can be identified it could be from several other aircraft .odds are it is a Ju 52/3

Translation is "Warning! When pressed the engine will start".

Awesome piece, both in condition as well as history.

                  When pressed
                  einrücken not eindrücken.
But i either dont know how to translate it well.

einrücken ist not common today. it´s someting like einkuppeln (to engage the clutch).

The marking inside the cowling " 6420R" is the a/c serial number, R means "Rechts" (right). So it was a cowling panel from the right engine of Ju 52 WrNr 6420. Maybe you can make further research from the losses lists.
