    Luft tropical shirt question...

    hello,
I own this shirt for a while now and taking a bit of time to look at my stuffs, I realize that it has only four buttons. I never paid attention to that
Cloth is thicker than the one of my other shirts.
Is it a german made shirt ? If so, what is this "4 front buttons" shirt ?
    Many thanks for your help,
    Regards, Pierre

I have concerns as well. Is that enough help?

As you stated, it is not the same shirt. Your shirt is very odd, and so is the eagle. I just can't find myself liking it. Any markings?

                    Thank you Willi, much appreciated.
No, there is no marking at all. Even not a collar size.
May be the shirt is not german, maybe foreign made or maybe a complete fake.
I'm far to be an expert in TP shirt but what is very surprising is the use of a different piece of cloth to make the collar (lighter than the body) and the use of 3 different threads to make it (which indicate, IMO, 3 steps of manufacturing). These 2 points are something I usually like....
Nevertheless, I'm a bit confused about the eagle
Here are 2 pics of a shirt with the same eagle (sorry, I do not remember where they come from - They were in my files) and a quick search has given me 3 times the same eagle on 2 of our forum sponsors.

Let me know if posting some sale threads is not allowed: I'll delete them quickly.
I'll put my shirt under a bluse waiting some more info.
                    Many thanks, Pierre

Pierre, your eagle is a genuine design. Know of some examples of this style with direct provenance to Africa.

As for the shirt, if it is legit, the explanation could be your "foreign produced" theory.

You're welcome. A caution however, your eagle is indeed a genuine design, yet Willi and David have well founded concerns. The eagle may be a well made copy of a genuine design. More research is needed.

Here is period photo of a wool backed example of this design which Jos found years ago.
