Opinions on these LW FD collar tabs

Cab you please provide your assessment on these Felddivision collar tabs. I do not like the green material and the way the back is sewn, but I am still learning here.

    Thanks

Lots of views, hoping to get a comment before pulling the trigger. I appreciate any opinions.

The thing I like about them is the oxidation on the gulls. Also, where the prongs are bent on the reverse has uniform oxidation. Looking at them, I dont really see anything that condems them outright. I would buy them if I was agreeable with the price.

the tabs look good. problem is determining when the gulls were put on. as most people know, these tabs turned up in the 80's by the dozens (most without gulls) in every waffenfarbe.
        that said, these look ok.

I am not fond of these. Certainly the wear on the gulls do not match the base tab. But I am curious as to why the tied ends of the piping are so clean, as compared to the rest of the piping. There is just something about these that concern me. Base fabric and the stitching, etc.

These appear to have been sewn on at one time. The front side of the piping is a bit discolored and worn like the green cloth on the front, and if the tabs were on a uniform for a while the ends of the piping would have been protected unlike the edges of the piping and the front. (Possibly)

Regarding the gulls: 10x magnification on the back side might reveal how "clen" the tabs pass through the material. It would look newly penetrated, or worn with a possible transference of oxidation from the tabs.

              Just my thoughts Willi

Oz, if they have been sewn on then that changes things. Having these in your hands is a great advantage. I would go with your instincts.

                  Willi,
You are most certainly right, and I hope to have them in hand soon. There seem to be traces of machine sewing on the front, but as you imply, the photos are hard to judge by. Your comments are a great help to teaching me what to look for.

                  fascinating!

The gulls seem to be heavily oxidized more than worn. Also, they seem to be a bit mis-stamped, by looking at the criss cross patterns on the front.

Paul, that was a concern of mine also, but could not actually tell from the photos if it was blurry, mistamped or oxidation that makes them look so.

They look similar to this strange pair, sold on Ebay five years ago. Officially an overcoat version of Luftwaffe FD NCO tabs do not exist.

Very closely matched to the ones at top! Thanks for posting and with the history.
Same napp, similar sewing and similarities with the prongs on the gulls and oxidation

                            Yes.

We discussed these strange tabs back then on the forum and came to the conclusion that they could be genuine but privately made as they were against the regulations ... Meanwhile I wish I had bought them, at least for some closer inspection.

Use the search function, perhaps You find the thread. Paul also should remember these set of tabs.
