    There is some red thread and now that I look at it more closely, I do see outlines of previous tabs. So I think you're right that they probably started out as flak. Definitely not the first example of a flak tunic stripped and rebadged for a more collectible flyer/paratrooper tunic.

    Appreciate you guys helping with this.

        An example of what collectors did in the 1970's and 80's.

        Original Flak tuchrock 'converted' to a more desireable Flight Branch one.

        In my opinion the insignia is probably mostly 'period' (ie. pre-1945) - although the Hoheitsabzeichen has some 'issues' for me.

        I believe that we will see more of these 'conversions' turning up as the older collectors pass and their handiwork returns to the marketplace.
