    A Flak Hauptman Collar Tab that appears to have been upgraded from a Leutnant.

    Doesn't seem likely, or practical...

      Ron - it happened. There are various reasons why an officer might have had tabs upgraded by adding a gull as opposed to outright replacement.

      Here are a couple of examples...

          You are too funny! No, you never want to lose a lucky fishin' hat. That should go with you to the grave.



          On the tabs, the reason could have been as you mentioned, or it could have been a frugal general, or it could have been an issue of supply or timeliness, or...?
