Tropical shoulderboards for review

Hello guys and experts...a friend of mine asked for my opinion about these pair of tropical boards...this is a mine-field for me so any comments and opinions will be helpfull...

Unusual to be backed in twill. Construction and materials look good, but with this much fading it is odd there is no button wear.

Valid points of caution raised by John, who I would defer to in knowledge regarding LW items, but I actually like these a lot. The button-hole construction look excellent, and note the differing threads used in these straps - although obviously a 'set'.
The lack of button shadow has me thinking more than anything else. Poorly stored in sunlight?
I look forward to more thoughts on these.

IMO original ones at the first look . .
The poor storage option for the fading ( 70 years ! ) makes sense for me .
