"The stress levels on the tunic's folds coupled with the strain on the broaches of the tunic show it was worn by someone overweight."

Nothing to do with the fact its a big tunic then???

Thanks David for posting this. I must say it looks good when you first look at it.
        I do not like.
        1) the way the collar tabs are sown on, seeing the light blue thread.
        2) the way the shoulder board is also sown in, very poor.
        3) the Baton/devices, the bottom LHS is awful, it's non symmetrical, it's to short
        and stubby.
        4) it would definitely have his name on it somewhere. Tailor labels were usually pulled out by family members, not Vets.

I'm not saying it's not his, he would have had around 50 of these uniforms. As he was taken to Spandau he took whole wardrobes with him. Only to be liberated by the Texan guards.

Maybe real but looks more like a put together.

        Regards SK

I like the fact that the "experts" said it was the real deal because of the sweat stains, no mention of if the insignia was real or not.

id be surprised if it does not end up in Peter Jackson collection, he always has some of his ww1 uniforms and his ww2 surrender visor.

The collar are bigger on the picture of Göring, clearly...but ofcourse, he had many tunics...

As pointedout in the other thread, this uniform has been known about for some time now, and the uniform with its insignia is fake.

How can you say that? It has sweat stains in it? It is made for a fat person? It must be for Goring!
                      Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

Would have thought Gottlieb would have his grubby hand in this somehow

                          Hi,

it seemed that "writers" for Dailymail.co.uk are trying to pass fakes or misleading items, this is starting to be quite annoying :

                            The precise words:-

"Mr Cabello said: 'We had it looked at by several people who deal in uniforms and the general consensus is the fact that it is old and has definitely been worn.

'We don't know the origin of the uniform. We assume it was liberated by the Americans and the local population and found its way into a collection in Switzerland.'

The uniform is being sold as a set which includes the original tunic, trousers and braces worn by Goering as well as a replica peaked cap and an original Nazi general's belt that would not have been owned by the Nazi commander."

I deal in evidence, ie. facts. What are the 'facts' here? It is old and it has been worn. Everything else is opinion and speculation. The 'Mail will argue that it is simply "reporting the news" when, in reality, there is nothing in the nature of 'news' in the item - except, perhaps, the price which is being sought.

Hmm, should do a DNA test on the sweat stains
