    I think that is a restored... (behind buttons...look like key ring !)

    comments are welcome

    I think that insignias are authentics but reapplied.

              Hi Steiner,

              Do all the buttons have the same key-ring type lock? It could be that the originals were lost in between cleanings, etc. The insignia is certainly good.

              Have you blacklighted the piece? How do the epaulette loops look on the tunic?

              I will say that the loops are sloppy, so from that regard they could have been done by someone post-war.

                    If all buttons have that key ring type system, then you'll need to look at everything with a fine-toothed comb. It's either been created or restored, even if the key rings were the only things done.

                    Do the buttons match? I also think the UV test might help, in this case.

                    Any stitch marks from previous tabs?

                          I also thought that the collar tabs on the LW white summer tunics were removable and were usually attached by snaps, etc.
