    Luftwaffe General's Cap clasp

Just found bought this yesterday at a local antique store.

I have only seen these in books, so I have no idea if this is original or fake. (leaning towards original).

Did search on the forum for information, but aside for a couple on uniforms no one has posted a Generals version.

The device is made from gilted aluminum.

    Posting several photos.

Question is.....did I hit a home run or did I strike out.

    Is it original?

    What's the value?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Cheers,
    Howard

I'm with Adam, never seen one up close, but the detail on this and that's difficult with Aluminium.
I know it says Schrimmutze....... is this not a Luftwaffe General’s Cape Closure?! If so it's worth around 1000+ $

To the person with an incomplete cape perhaps. I don't imagine anybody else would pay that for this.

                    Thanks.

Guess I need to hit up the antique store again! Try and find out if they have more stuff or even where they found the items.

The Schirmmutze tag is Army. It is also aluminum. Aside from the term "schirmmutze, which is translated to Visor Hat. All I know is it was from the 65th Jager Regt.

                    Thanks again for the help.

The"J" on the tag is actually an "I" for Inf. Rgt. 65 (there was no Gebirgs or Jaeger Rgt. 65).
